⚠️ Changes to Gmail providers: Actions required.
Dear Clients,
We would like to inform you that, starting on 30 September of this year, Google will stop supporting authentication methods for third-party applications. As a result, from the indicated date, all SMTP-IMAP providers created in uContact using Gmail accounts will cease to function, affecting the sending and receiving of emails in campaigns associated with these providers.
Therefore, starting from version 6.521, we are introducing a new type of email provider: Gmail. This new option simplifies the configuration process and requires granting Gmail account permissions for use in uContact.
How to create the new Gmail provider:
Assign a unique name to the provider.
Select the “Gmail” type.
Enter the email address and sender name.
Click the “Save” button.
A window will appear where you will need to log in to the provided Gmail account and accept the necessary permissions to use it as a provider in uContact.
If the process was completed correctly, a success message will appear, and you can close the window.
Important: To verify the connector's status, you will need to return to the Providers screen.
What happens if there are interactions in the queue?
If there are email interactions in the queue before the update, they will not be lost. You will need to delete the current provider, configure the new one, and assign it to the campaign. Then, agents will be able to handle these interactions as usual.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our support team by sending an email to ucontact.support@net2phone.com.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,
The uContact Team.
